TEXAS ECLIPSE FESTIVAL

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Texas Eclipse Festival took place during the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, directly located in the path of totality. It was located in the heart of beautiful Texas Hill Country, Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, which stretched for acres upon acres. The festival totally immersed us in the eclipse, featuring themed pop-ups, over 400 musical artists, interactive artwork, educational workshops, and so much more.

It was truly like nothing we’ve ever experienced before!

MUSIC

The music lineup truly had something for everyone, featuring everything from psy trance and dubstep to house and techno. There were six stages with live music acts, some from dusk ‘til dawn! We especially enjoyed getting to check out artists we have never seen before, and exploring all genres of music. As avid festival goers, the stage, light, and sound production was some of the best we’ve ever seen!

CAMPING & EXPERIENCES

When we arrived at the festival grounds, we were blown away by the sheer size of the ranch! The views were unbelievable, especially at sunset. The quarry lake was amazing to swim in and cool off, and we loved roaming around the campgrounds – we even stumbled upon a few surprise DJ sets near our campsite. It felt like everywhere you looked, there was a stage, a pop-up, or something fun to experience. We were also thoroughly impressed by how stocked the general store was with supplies, it was truly a lifesaver!

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS

Unfortunately, due to severe weather forecasts in Burnet, the remainder of the festival was canceled on Monday, April 8th. The forecasts from Monday through Wednesday predicted severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, damaging large hail, tornadoes and/or high winds, and lightning. We were sad we didn’t get to enjoy the final day of the festival, but were glad thousands weren’t stranded at their campsites in severe weather and rugged terrain. Luckily, attendees were still allowed to stay for the eclipse and evacuate the premises after totality ended.

In regards to partial refunds, the festival issued this statement:

“All festival tickets will be eligible for an automatic partial refund based on the number of days, less taxes, fees, and shipping.

4-Day GA & VIP tickets will receive a 25% refund of the ticket’s face value

3-Day GA & VIP tickets will receive a 33% refund of the ticket’s face value

2-Day GA & VIP tickets will receive a 50% refund of the ticket’s face value

All camping upgrades and add-ons purchased will receive a partial refund of 25% of the face value, less taxes and fees. This reimbursement is based on the supplier cost, as well as the consultation of our insurance company regarding weather-driven event cancellations.”

OUR VERDICT

This festival was truly once in a lifetime. While we were sad about the cancellation, we were happy we got to experience the majority of the festival. It’s always amazing to see how large-scale events like this come together, especially with Texas Eclipse being a one-time event, at a first-time venue!
